For many years and under the auspices of Sport Event Denmark, Lars Lundov has been dedicating his time and energy to the exciting field of bidding for, supporting and monitoring major international sports events in Denmark, including events within the Olympic Movement, e.g. the FIG World Artistic Gymnastics Championships 2006, the IOC Session & Olympic Congress 2009 and the UCI World Road Championship 2011.
Sport Event Denmark is a governmental based sport event support organisation with the main objective of attracting and hosting major international sports events and congresses. With expertise and know-how Sport Event Denmark offer Danish hosts advisory and agency services as well as vital financial support.
Sport Event Denmark operates throughout the event process in close cooperation with the local organising committee. From the vital bidding process, over the monitoring and focused marketing process until the event is successfully delivered. They recognize the importance of adding extra value to an event and its owners and they always do their utmost to exceed expectations.
The strategy is, in short, to showcase Denmark as an ideal sports events nation, to expand the vital international network and to make the efforts of all parties involved in hosting major international sports events in Denmark worthwhile. They aim at developing and branding each individual event and sport to the utmost, both nationally and internationally, instead of only thinking in terms of visitor bed nights generated.
